Berwick Class thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the Christmas Journey
We were made to feel so welcome today at St Andrew’s and St Mark’s church in Newbiggin. The lovely ladies (volunteers) & Reverend Marie Attwood took us on the Christmas journey. The children listened intently as they were taken to see Mary making bread and then being visited by an angel. Then we headed off to the hills to visit the shepherds tending their flock. Our next stop was to see the animals and then we heard all about the 3 wise men. Each step of our journey was carefully and simply reenacted with a sensory element to keep the children engaged.
Jen said “I have to say the whole of Berwick class ‘did us proud’ The lovely ladies were blown away with Thomas’ questions and answers. Every child behaved impeccably and they all enjoyed listening to the real meaning of Christmas – what a fantastic morning we all had!”
