  • Be a happy, safe, caring environment for all our pupils and staff.
  • Be a friendly and stimulating environment where learning is fun and interesting.
  • Provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum appropriate to the needs of each child or young person, taught and assessed through individual learning programmes.
  • Provide relevant opportunities and experiences out of the Academy to help our young people understand being part of a wider community.
  • Develop the self esteem, self awareness and confidence of each of our pupils.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals.

Let’s Get Social

Brad and Callum have successfully completed their Works Experience at Akzo Nobel. They have had an incredible time, a huge thank you to all the staff at @AkzoNobel for making them feel so welcome and giving them a taste of 'working life'. @MrsJJill

A big thank you to Castle School parents who supported in painting areas of school last week, 2 sensory rooms were fully painted and touch ups in our classrooms. We are also thankful to @AkzoNobel who kindly provided us with paint and brushes.

Pupils from Castle School went to different areas of our site to litter pick as part of the 2024 #GreatBritishSpringClean. Thanks to Ashington Town Council for providing us with litter pickers, bin bags and hi-vis jackets.
@KeepBritainTidy

We had a lovely visit last week from Nicola, a marine biologist from @Rockpoolschool1. We listened to a sensory story, explored rockpool animals and took part in sea life arts and crafts. Our students were so engaged and absolutely loved it!
#NationalCareersWeek

As part of #NationalCareersWeek, we enjoyed an interactive workshop with one of our nurses. Our students role played using the different nursing equipment and identified how a nurse looks after us.
